Research

I am a Doctoral Research student in the Department of Clinical Nursing at the University of Adelaide, Australia. I am conducting a study on inpatient diabetes management when a burn injury is the primary diagnosis.

My study will cover Burns Units in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. I have contacted the British Burns Association to get information about Burns Units in the UK. However, I did not receive any reply from them. I would be grateful if someonev would forward to me a list of Burns Units with their contact details that exists in the UK.

Any help would be very much appreciated

I look forward to hearing from you

Best Regards,

Ma'en Abu-qamar

We have an excellent burns unit at our regional hospital. Patients come from far and wide for treatment. Here are the details, hope it helps :) :

Whiston Hospital,

Burns Unit,

Warrington Road,

Prescot,

Merseyside,

L35 5DR,

United Kingdom

Tel : 0151 430 1540

There is an axtensive list of NHS Trusts here http://www.nhs.uk/England/AuthoritiesTrusts/Acute/list.aspx and it might be worth writing to 'The Burns Unit' at each place to see if they can help. Not all Trusts have burns units, but this is probably the most accurate list of Trusts you will find on the web.

Hope this helps

All of our burns pts get shipped out to regional burns units. Sorry I can't be of more help. Perhaps write to the director of the individual hospital and ask to be directed to the relevant person?
