Try Your school approved research engines such as MedScape or PubMed. Google may also turn up some articles. AACN just published a really good article recently.

Further, therapeutic hypothermia is extremely comon in most hospitals now. If you're doing your clinicals in one, perhaps you can score a copy of the orders.

As you begin to learn about the ins and out of post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, you may then decide what really perks your interest and focus your paper on that.

Go to the online databases provided by your library, like CINAHL, Ovid, etc. Do a search for your topic and limit the results to full text and the last 5 years. See what is available in the literature, choose your specific focus based on the articles you find. I find this is always the best approach when given a general topic. It's better to make sure you have plenty of references to work with before limiting yourself.

Onedream,

Both persons provided good advice and I concur. You don’t have time to reinvent the wheel- We were taught that in my doctoral program. Conduct a topic search, narrow the search, and then begin reading the conclusions and suggestions for further research. “therapeutic hypothermia” returned 535 articles. “therapeutic hypothermia” and “cardiac arrest” returned 274. “Cognitive” outcomes narrows the search to 3 articles. When this happens to me, I read the three articles. Is there anything in particular about cognitive outcomes that interest me? If so, those key words will be found in the articles that will help to find supporting research. By the way, I performed a CINAHL search. It’s my favorite database. I hope this helps.
