Requested transcripts?

Has anyone had an employer request a copy of your transcripts before starting new job? I have no problem with it, my grades are very good, but I just found it odd. This is my first nursing job, and I have passed my NCLEX, so not a GVN. Just interested to know if this is a normal routine.

I had to submit my transcripts. For the OR Internship, I had to prove I had at least the required over all GPA (3.0 or above) , and no more than 1 "C" on the nursing courses.

I understand for an internship, but this is a job at the community clinic. Like I mentioned, not a big deal, I have nothing to hide, I graduated with a 3.7. But just found it odd.....for this particular setting.

Not odd at all. You have no nursing experience for them to check out, only your school record. GPA is an indicator of how you did during nursing school. Did you slack off and only did the minimal needed or did you go beyond that!

Even at a community clinic, I don't find it odd.

They probably just want someone who, like the above poster wrote, doesn't 'just pass'.

I see your points....thank you!

Heck, ask them if you get paid extra for each "A"! :rotfl:

Good luck! :)
