Hello my fellow nurses. I have a question. My family member had a colonoscopy on Monday. They took a couple of biopsies to pathology. However this am when he had a BM, this came out. Does anyone know what it is specifically? Thanks.

Unknown.  But, I would schedule a meeting with the endoscopy center and bring it and discuss with them.  If nothing else, for quality control improvement impetus.  I hope the biopsies are negative. 🙂

This is a clip used for prevention of bleeding from a biopsy/polypectomy site. It's perfectly normal, no worries. Most of the time people don't see them, you have eagle eye. They pinch the tissue together to prevent bleeding until it heals, and sloughs off when healed.  No need to contact quality control 🙂
