relocation

My family have just moved to the Granbury area, just outside of ft. worth. I am finding lots of job openings in ft worth, but i don't really want to drive 30-45 miles to work, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options inside of granbury, i have only been here a few days, but didn't know if anyone lived out here in this area and had any ideas. i am an lvn with 4 years experience in med/surg, oncology and office settings and home health. thanks!!!

Unfortunately, lack of work is a disadvantage of living in a small town with a population of lesser than 10,000 people. I know an LVN who lived in Granbury for many years and she did area agency since that was one of the only available positions in the area. I know another Granbury LVN who spends one hour on the road daily to get back and forth from work.

the other thing i am figuring out about small towns it depends on who you know. really sad, but i am not getting in a hurry. i have a couple of prn's from ft wort,h, i can drive over there 2 or 3 days a week and make more than if i hire on full time.

just frustrating being somewhere new and not knowing anyone. when we were in houston i didn't have a problems at all finding a job because there is such a great need there. but i do like being back in north texas again!
