relocating

I am relocating to Colorado, Denver to be exact, very soon. How is the job market out there? I have been working on a telemetry floor for 14 months so I do have experience. I have just recently started applying for jobs, but I am very nervous that they won't even give me a chance due to me being 20 hours away.

Any information will be greatly appreciated :)

If you have acute care experience, prospects are pretty good, especially if you also have a BSN. Big thing for many hospital systems in this area is experience, and 14 months on a tele floor should go ever well in the area, since most look for 1-2 years minimum.

Thanks redinscrubs! I do have my BSN! I am really nervous tho!

A few months before we were set to move out here, I started applying for jobs. At the University hospital, they conducted a phone conference interview with me and I was hired without even having set in the state. So if you have good experience and interview well, there's no reason why distance would be a deterrent to finding employment.

Thanks Klone! That's gives me some hope!

Good luck on your job hunt! I work for Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree. Our facility is currently going through a huge renovation and adding on a ton of patient rooms. So I know they have postings open for RNs.

You shouldn't have a problem finding a job here. You have great experience and that's what hospitals are looking for.
