Relocating question

Published

Hello all :)

So I currently live in Indianapolis, IN. Next week i have a few interviews in Atlanta, GA. I was wondering if you guys knew around how long most jobs generally give you to relocate? My mother who is also a nurse told me two weeks. That absolutely will not be enough time for me. I know December is probably super pushing it, but that would be amazing!

My interviews start 9/11-9/13.

What do you guys think? Thank you!

When I moved from Ohio to Arizona, I told them I can do it in 6 weeks and that wasn't a problem. They were willing to extend it to 8 weeks if needed. When I moved from Arizona to Texas, I told them I could do it in 4 weeks and again that wasn't a problem. They also offered to extend it if needed.

This will be something to discuss with your HR recruiter, although it may be brought up in the interview. 2 weeks is not reasonable because you are going to need to get your nursing license in the new state and that's not going to be accomplished that quickly.

When I worked in Texas, I worked with a lot of new graduates from out of state. A new graduate orientation was started once a month. If everything wasn't in order by one start date, the new hire was pushed back to the next start date.
