Hi all, I would really appreciate your advice and input.
We are relocating from the UK to Dallas with my husbands work early next year. He's on a L1 visa and I will have a L2 which I will be able to work on.
I qualified as RGN 20 years ago in Ireland and I've been working continuously in the UK since then. I have about about 15 years Oncology /Chemotherapy experience, I have worked for both the NHS and private sector, mostly in chemotherapy day units and Home IV settings.
I have no idea where to start with my application to the Texas Nursing Board. I have looked at the website and am so confused, should I wait until I am in the States with SSN before I start the application or should I start now? I am aware it can be a lengthy process as I will have to take the NCLEX exam aswell.
Do I need to apply to the BON before I apply for the NCLEX? And what about CGFNS? Do I need to apply to them first??
How easy or difficult is it to get a job in Oncology?
i hope someone can throw some light on this for me 🤔

Before you can sit NCLEX you must apply to the BON as well as CGFNS or other acceptable agency. Usually CES is required and that is a breakdown of your transcripts and that is done by CGFNS. Other accepted agencies for the state perform a similar service. Only once you have met state requirements will you get eligibility and then you can register with Pearsonvue who will send ATT once you have paid fees. You can start now but expect the process to take up to 4-6 months before knowing if you meet requirements
