Registration lapse

Hi, iv never posted I forums before but don't know where else to turn, I feel physically sick, my registration lapsed 2 days ago, my own stupid fault, busy at work and only last night when I had chance to sit down and read my emails did I realise what I had done, I just wanted to see if anyone could offer any advice on this, my managers are being very understanding but I am dreading seeing the team, I'm a district nurse and as if were not busy and short staffed enough without me doing this, iv been on nmc and it says it can take up to 6 weeks, if anyone has had experience in this I would be so grateful for any help, could I work as a band 3? Do they need references and reflections when I re apply etc so sorry for the long post x Clare

If you can work will depend on your trust policy. Ours is that you take unpaid leave and are then investigated under disciplinary for breech of contract.

I think you have to do declarations and provide evidence of CPD and practice hours but I'm not sure

If you haven't already I suggest you speak with the RCN or unison.

You will need to take unpaid leave until this is sorted out. Renewal is a pretty long process now, with not only CE hours but also 15 hours of classes, a discussion and a shed load of forms.

If you get all your ducks in a row and actually go to the NMC, you might find they can help, but if not, then just suck it up and wait for it to be processed.
