Regarding not passing the boards

Published

Well, I did not pass and, it hurt like a mother ******...feeling for everyone who did not pass and feel doubly for those who did not pass a second time...my heart goes out to you all...however, have confidence that you will overcome these obstacles with flying colours no matter what! We have to all get real and realize that even if you cannot pass the boards life still goes on...cherish and relish it, cause we can get snuffed out of our lives any moment...life is ever so short...have FAITH :redbeathe

Like everything else in life, nothing is perfect. My daughter took her drivers exam 3 times to pass it. My friend took his LPN boards twice.

One friend stopped smoking 4 times before she quit! My sister went to 3 Drs before one got the right Dx. for her condition. In each case there were other things that happened along the way that changed thier lives. The key is in accepting what happened and deciding on a path.

It is sort of a "where do I want to go with this" type of thing. You education is never wasted, and may be used for something wlse at a later date.

One test. One day. Is that a measure of your real ability? Just one test on one particular day? I think that is an over simplification. So many factors play in on whether we will do well on a test.

Is it your optimal time of the day?

How are your test taking skills?

Did they test on stuff that you were unsure on?

Luck?

Etc.

Sometimes it may not be so bad to fail a test, it gives you more time/chance to study for the next one.

In my class we had a student that was failed during practicum 3 times! And I dont think it was b/c he was not good, but b/c of a stiff mind of an instructor.

I knew of a lady that knew her stuff really well, but her tests always ended up on days when she was experiencing PMS. They changed the dates and she passed with high scores.

Biorythm, external stressors, all play a role in how well we perform, it is not b/c you are not good enough. I think a lot is about luck and timing.

Failing a test can be viewed as an opportunity, you are already ahead of those that will take it the first time.

I would say, relax, take a deep breath (it is NOT the million dollar ticket)

try again. It is not illegal to take a test again. Also they will not throw you in jail for failing one either. No criminal record!

YOu really are blessed: you have the brains to take the course and you have the opportunity to test again.

keep goin and tryin! i passed the 3rd time. good luck!

Faith the size of a mustard seed, can move a mountain, but the mountain isn't gonna move without a little push. Study, and regroup and take it again, and im sure you will do fine. i just my nclex-pn today and waiting to find out my results, im really scared, but i have faith that this is exactly where im suppose to be.

You can do it!! :anpom::anpom:

I took the exam for the 2nd time on Tuesday. I felt so good when I left the test I was sure I passes. Well I paid another 8 bucks today to find out that I failed again. I have been reading on this site all day and it has made me feel a little bit better knowing I am not the only one. I am not a test taker. I know the content but just cant test.

i also felt that i had passed. but it was not so...failed in 75 ques. first try.

Good luck to you on the next try
