So today we were working on our eye assessments, does anyone else have a problem seeing the red reflex? I can't see it for the life of me and my teacher said it's because of my astigmatism. Anyone else have this problem?

I thought it had to do with the angle you were bringing the light into the eye so that it could bounce off the retina. There are times when I can see the red reflex in my cats eyes from across a room when they have there heads turned a certain way to reflect the light--no ophthalmoscope needed. And I have a terrible astigmatism without my glasses.
I thought it was how I was doing it, but the teacher said I was doing it right, and I checked like 10 other students to see if I could see theirs, and I couldn't but everyone else could. I guess I just got frustrated. I think I'll try again next week and see if I have any better luck.
