Hi everyone!
I am currently a Junior finishing my first degree in Biology and was planning on pursuing a second degree in nursing by applying to ABSN programs and starting either next year in the Summer of 2021 or Fall of 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I am starting to think that ABSN might not be a possibility this next year due to financial issues and am considering waiting for the next application cycle. Is anyone else in the same boat as me?

@meg n An ABSN program is a good option because they are usually faster (saving time and money). Check with the schools to make sure they are still doing clinical rotations. You might save money in the short term, but it also might be better to jump in and finish your degree. The longer you wait the more you lose out on opportunity cost.
For example if the average salary is $60,000 and you wait 6 months to apply you lose out on a potential $30,000.
Try to look for grants and scholarships. A good one is the HRSA Nurse Corps Scholarship which provides tuition, schools supplies, and a stipend. There may also be grants after you get your BSN.
