Hello
I am moving from WV to VA in a few weeks and would like to know if anyone has any idea about reciprocity for this? Is there a process involved, and if so what is it? I have sent an e-mail with these same questions to this site: http://www.dhp.state.va.us/nursing/ although I'm not entirely sure they will be speedy with their response.. has anyone ever had trouble with reciprocity? Thanks for any input. I was also looking at other posts about this and I noticed that as long as the states have the compact that you may move w/in them as long as you pay fees etc.. or so i gathered.. but WV is not part of the compact, however the state I'm moving to is.. what does this mean for me? - Edit - It seems that because WV does not participate in the mutual recognition i will have to use the nursys verification.

You'll simply need to endorse your WV license into the state of Virginia.
I was originally licensed in California, a state that is not part of the Nursing Licensure Compact. I endorsed my California license into Texas, and the entire process took about 5 to 6 weeks. I sent a completed application to the Texas BNE, including a notarized signature, recent passport-sized picture, fingerprint card, and other paperwork. They sent a temporary license to my home a few days later, and then sent a permanent Texas license about a month later.
Call Virginia's board of nursing to see how their endorsement process works.
