Reapplying...statement revision

Hi all,

I am reapplying to a CRNA program this year. I don't have to go through the entire process again, but they want me to upload my revised personal statement. My problem is, I really like my personal statement and honestly don't have much to add to it from last year. When I didn't get accepted I just kept on trucking in ICU gaining experience. Do you think it would be looked poorly on to upload the same doc?

Yes. Have you tried getting help from a friend or past professor? There are even places online that can help as well. Expand on what you’ve learned or how you better prepared yourself in the past year? Did you learn more about hemodynamics? Did you become a preceptor? Did you become a charge nurse? Did you take extra classes? Retake the GRE? Surely there is something that makes you a better candidate today than you were last year. Expand on that.

If they've asked you to revise it, you should revise it. It doesn't really matter if you like it, they didn't feel like it was quite what they needed from you last year, to be candid. What feedback did they give you regarding your weaknesses and why you were not the most competitive applicant last year? This should be addressed in the statement in terms of outlining what you've done to be more prepared for what they're looking for. Good luck!

Yes, they will look poorly on submitting the same essay as last year.

I submitted a very similar essay as I did the previous year but updated it to reflect changes.
