Ready for a different area of practice

So, after being a stay at home mom for a few years and taking a Nurse Refresher course I have been working 5 years back in clinical setting and am feeling a bit worn. 12 hr shifts, lifting, etc. Still want to make a difference and help patients. So, I am taking my patient advocacy role to a new level. I have signed up for a course to learn about the role of the nurse as a Case Manager. I am really excited. It includes online training, lecture and, clinicals in Houston. I am super excited and look forward to moving into a new area of nursing. Will keep you posted.

It sounds like your very good at planning for the future. The nurse refresher course was obviously a good move since you made it back to the clinical setting and maitained employment for five years. This case managment course sounds very thourough and will hopefully take you to where you want to be the next five years or longer. Congratulations :)
