Re-taking exam, any advice?

Published

When I first was accepted to my school, I was told I could only take the test once and I had to score only a 58, they have recently changed the rules, you can now take it twice and need a 68. I took it in the beginning of july, and I received a 64..ONLY 4 POINTS OFF! I can re-take it again whenever I feel ready. My lowest score was math, i got a 50%.. I had to start guessing towards the end because I was running out of time, mind you I have been using a calculator for in school for over 10 years now, so I had to re teach myself everything by hand. Does anyone have any advice in how to become faster at the math? or any websites I can utilize to help me practice?

Hey! Do you happen to be in the Orlando area? I got about the same score when I took my first test, I have to take it again sometime in Aug- Sept and Im trying to find a study partner.. Goodluck!

No, I live in Illinois!

What I did for the math portion was practice calculating medium level math in my head. Like percentages, long division, conversions, etc. And I break up math problems and round off long decimals because it eases processing power and leaves you with a good guesstimate still (especially if you're short on time). Use all of that piece of paper they give you for the test.

Also I liked this free website. The practice tests were more difficult and much shorter than the actual test but still got your brain thinking about what you'll have to do. Free TEAS Practice Tests | TEAS - Test-Guide.com

I got a 50% the first time as well. I just retook it today & got a 70%. I needed a 75% I also ran out of time at the end. I passed everything else the first time, I just can't get passed the stupid math! Anyway good luck!
