Hi There,
I'm attending RCC. I have taken Anthro 2 (summer) and am now taking Speech 9 and Developmental Psych. Maldonando for speech 9 is good. it's a real interactive class. Tilton for Developmental Psych is a BORE. I haven't taken any of my science classes yet. I'm hoping to take English and Math in spring and then take my science classes in the fall of 2005. I'm inching away at my pre-req's and hope to graduate in 2007 as well. I wasn't sure if I was going to continue at RCC. I was looking at transferring to Chaffey College because I heard they have a great nursing program as well. I'm torn because I live between both CC. So far I like RCC, but I'm worried about how quickly I will get into the nursing program. I don't live in Riverside County so that is already a disadvantage because I hear they take Riverside residents first. I don't agree with that but I hear that is one of the perks for being a Riverside resident. So have you gotten all your other pre-reqs out of the way? I'm glad there is another RCC person here.
Tessa :)

hey tessa and dan! is rcc as packed as it used to be??? i got my lvn through there around 7 years ago...mainly b/c after 2 years of full time school i still couldn't get into a&p 2a no matter crashing the classes, talking to the teachers before school started etc. it was a nightmare and i am still trying to finish this rn thing. i also worked in their admissions dept for a few years, it was interesting learning how the college really works. i did take micro with some english lady, can't believe i don't remember her name but her favorite word was gonorrhea. never forget that. and tessa, if it is any quicker to get into chaffey do it!! never heard anything bad about their program when i was around and really what you get out of nursing school is more dependent on what you put in to it. hope things are well for you both and happy studying!
you know what Im taking A&P 2A right know. and the first day i recall how many people that tried so hard to get in the class. i wish they could just get more instructors with this demand. Luckily for me I got into A&P2A my first try. I guess its because I have a lot of units already at RCC. same with micro-first try. know I hope its that way when I get into the nursing program. then ill consider myself very lucky. So far getting an A
oh yeah,BTW thats Dr. Lisa your talking about. she so funny i had her for lab, and she had several favorite words like "little bugs" and when we fixed our gram stain slides she liked to yell "BURN!" in her funny little accent. okay bye
Thank you for the reply. I never thought anyone would reply back. Anyway, So far I am digging away at RCC. I guess I have decided to stay here and hope for the best. I work really hard and am determined so I should get what I want. I'm doing well in the 2 classes I have now. I'm looking forward to spring so I can be full time.

Oh congrats on the baby! My husband and I have been married for 3 years now and I'm hoping to have a baby after I'm done with school. Good luck to you!
yup, that's her!! major congrats on getting an A so far!! that bodes well for the actual nursing classes as they too are crammed with way too much info than you can really retain in such a short period.
if you have the opportunity to knock out classes going full time then get it done!!! to both dan and tessa-getting into the clinical you want can be difficult when you are in the program as everyone else also has the same amt of units and you are all registering on the same day! first week of class everyone is talking to each other trying to switch to what they want-it's a mess...
