Sep 18, 201213 yr Many students get into difficulty because they aren't dead certain sure about the meaning of words or abbreviations. Until you are, never proceed on anything until you find out. This is a great example of why-- PVD is generally considered arterial (even though of course there is such a thing as venous disease, PVD says "arterial" to anyone in vascular work), and the V in DVT says something.
Sep 18, 201213 yr PVD is peripheral vascular disease ...could result from any number of things. PAD is peripheral arterial disease and both have very different signs and symptoms. A DVT is a deep vein thrombosis....very different.
