Hey! Well i've been around this forum usually just looking I've never actually posted so let me introduce myself before I continue. My name is Vanessa, and I'm a student at miami-dade college. Now on to my questions , I'm pretty much wrapping up my pre-reqs, all im missing is chem. my last anatomy and a remedial math, I do intend to apply to the mdc nursing generic program in 09, now like plenty of you were and are I'm petrified I'm trying to raise my gpa and after calculating it seems i'll finish with a 3.2, I know people with 3.7 who have been rejected! It scares me. So my question is I know I can also apply to bcc but i also want to apply to other schools, now the program I'm doing is not th AA program so which schools can I apply to without my AA. I have the following done:
ENC 1101 MCB 2010
SPC 1026 DEP 2000
PHI 2604
CLP 1006
CGS 1060
BSC 2085
bsc 2085L
Thanks for reading, Vanessa :heartbeat

vanessa your story--- is like reading my story back in 2002
instead of asking here--- I suggest that you go to each nursing school websites that are close to miami dade county and start looking for the actual requirements to be accepted to each school. And that is exactly what I did.
www.nova.edu
florida keys community college
www.bcc.edu
keiser univertisity
city college
and I had a 3.33 when I was rejected from MDC 5x
I was accepted to NOVA, BCC, & manatee community college
-your'e welcome!
Thank you so much for your reply, I have been looking website by website trying to figure out which school best suits me. I know bcc is my second option but Ive always been a fan of nova and after leaving highschool my gpa just wasnt where it should of been for nova. So i'd really enjoy going to nova. Now quick question and i hope i dont sound dumb, do you need your AA in pre-nursing to join nova's nursing program? i mean it is a university.
Before entering NOVA, I personally had my AA in pre-nursing-- since MDC was not taking me in, and BCC wait list was FOREVER-- I kept going to school and finished my AA.
Now- if you go to the NovA website-- they only require 33 credits--- hence when you start their program, you do have to take their nutrition, their math, their A&P, their writing classes, their bunch of other classes--- that let's say FIU does not make you do over again because you already had it from your AA (like me)---- so for nova, they don't care if you have your AA already-- they care about the $$ and require the extra classes for their 31 month program-- as opposed to FIU's 24 month program.
so basically once you have 31 credits-- you are good to go at NOVA-
33 credits I mean
back in 2002-2003, I had all the classes you meantioned above in your OP
when I started NOVA, I already had my AA and it was jan 2005-
started BCC fall 2005
finished summer 2007
