Question about working with multiple agencies

I'm new to traveling and have been talking with several different agencies tying to figure out which one to go with. I have narrowed it down to 3 recruiters that I really like. My question is, if I do decide to have one of them submit me to a hospital, am I then locked in with that agency even if I don't end up taking that particular assignment? I really enjoy all 3 recruiters and all 3 companies seem comparable in pay and what they offer, I would be happy to work with any of them. Is it common for travel nurses to work with more than one company? Do the recruiters understand if you take an assignment with another agency but want to work with them in the future?

Thanks!

Every agency will have their own skills checklists. Many post them on their site under resources or similar without needing a password. You can even Google them - include "nurse" or "your specialty" - for direct agency links.

Really good checklists are available on PanTravelers (need free membership) and some agencies will accept checklists that are not theirs (they put their logo on it). You will soon enough learn how bad most agency skills checklists are - PanTravelers is trying to get agencies to upgrade them.

There are also several reference forms available on PanTravelers for free download. Get into the habit now of keeping your own professional portfolio and you will be well served in your career. Agencies do collect their own eval/reference from each assignment for marketing purposes for your next assignment but will not share them with you.
