I don't usually answer "homework" type questions but I'll give it a shot...

When you answer these types of quesitons (this sounds like NCLEX to me), always try to elimiate 1-2 right off the bat. I wouldn't worry about the contact dermatitis because that's not life-threatening. I doubt a laceration on the outer arm would be something to worry about since it has been sutured for an hour.

NOTICE THIS: Both med questions say "INITIAL DOSE" that is so important. You always want to keep a close eye on a patient when they are receiving an initial dose of anything because they might have a reaction to it.

I've only met one patient who was allergic to predisone, while I've know many with an allergy to penicillin. So if I had to pick one, I'd go assess the patient who got penicillin. They try to throw you off by saying "STD" which doesn't sound too critical, but the penicillin is.

That's my :twocents: I'm curious to see if anyone has a better answer!

I agree with the penicillin answer, that was my first choice. Anaphylaxis
