Hello everyone! I hope you're having a bless day today. I use to be a pre-nursing major at a community college last year until May than I transfer to a technical college majoring in Business Administration than change from that to Homeland Security and Public Safety. Now I'm planning on transferring to another college to go back where I started which is Nursing because I've realized that is where my heart relay in. I looked on the school I'm applying to transfer articulation and it stated that students transferring to the nursing major must complete a course in inorganic chemistry (including lab). I've took two Biology classes, general Biology I and II. I took those classes before I thought about becoming a pre-nursing major at the community college. Do you think I will still be able to get accepted into the Nursing program even though I haven't taken the inorganic chemistry course? I really want to be in this field!:

Contact the school that offers the nursing program, they will review your transcripts from all other schools that yuo lhave attended and tell you which courses exactly you need to take before you can get into the program.

If there is a commonality to any of the hundreds of nursing programs commented on in these forums is that the prerequisite for Chemistry is usually the same. No matter what you call it-Gen Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Chemistry for Science majors-it is all basically Chemistry-I and I think most schools require it. The ADN programs may not need it as a prerequisite to get but you will have to eventually take it to get your associate degree. The BSN programs definitely require it as a prereq to get in. At least that's how it is around here in Texas...dont know 'bout yall.
