Question on supplies?

Who normally provides the dressing change kits for PICC lines on patients with IV therapy - the home health agency or the home infusion pharmacy? We are servicing a patient on IV ATB x 2 weeks and there were no dressing change kits provided along with the IV supplies.

I have been in HHC for 2 years and the infusion company has always provided all the supplies for the administration and maintenance of any IV access.

The infusion company is required to provide all supplies directly related to the IV therapy. Call the company and ask for them.

my understanding is that while the patient is on antibiotic treatment, the IV company will supply the dressing kits, once the antibiotic is completed and the PICC is for maintainence only the HH company supplies it under the medicare bundling of suppliles.

thanks for the info. I will call for those supplies. This is such a gray area since the infusion pharmacy think we get paid for these supplies along with our bulk payment on nursing visits.
