question about resume

Nurses General Nursing

Hello,

I have a question regarding how to create a resume based on my current situation. I just passed the NCLEX Exam and will be applying for jobs soon and will need to create a resume. The issue I have here is that I actually graduated with a BSN 2 years ago and just now took the NCLEX for the first time and passed. I haven't worked as an RN or GN for the past two years and therefore, have no experience to put on the resume. Should I treat the resume as if I'm a new nursing school graduate even though I graduated two years ago or as an RN with a license but with no experience? I'm just not sure what to put as far as experience. Should I list my clinical rotation experience while I was in school and should I mention any other past work experience that has nothing to do with the job (RN) that I'm applying for? I'm confused...if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

List clinical rotations as "Related Experience", but be sure to be clear that these were rotations not jobs. List other employment as well under another section. Don't try to mislead anyone into thinking you are a new grad.

Good luck

When I graduated I had no other nursing experience other than my clinical experience. So I listed my clinical experience under the heading "Clinical Experience" and my work experience under "Work Experience". I did list work experience that had nothing to do with nursing.

I think you should consider yourself as a new RN with no experience since you already have your license.
