Question about precepting

Do you get paid extra to train a "new to dialysis" nurse? Anyone work for FMC? I have precepted a few new nurses and they do not pay me extra. The techs DO get paid extra when they train so what is up with that? I do not want to do it anymore it seems unfair. I was just told I have a new nurse coming to train with me in a couple of weeks.

I have never been paid extra to train in a new nurse. I have been told that education is part of a nurses job. Besides, it takes much longer to train in a PCT than just the nursing part. I don't mind doing it because if I train them, at least I feel safe leaving my patients in their care because I know they were trained right.
