Question about MAR

At my job the staff was documenting on the back of the MAR for PRNs when our boss showed me a page right next to it and said this is where we are really suppose to document. I rewrote everything I had previously written onto the page she said we are suppose to use but now I am worried I may have messed up because I did what my CNA instructor told us to do when faced with errors in the MAR and that is to draw a line through, put in ( )'s the change/reason for change/error and initial and circle your initial. What I was doing basically was transferring previous documentation over into the proper area so should I have written "accidentally wrote in wrong area" or "rewrote in proper area"? Which is better? And I'm concerned about the strike through as I am reading that we are never suppose to strike a line through or white out/cross out documentation.

    A lot of the time the MARs have a back page and you write what the mistake/reason was. We all make mistakes, don't worry they told you what to do next time :) We are human. initial and date usually on the back page after the reason. Don't worry which way to write it, they both mean the same thing.

    Thanks! Yeah, I showed my boss when she got up this morning and she didn't see anything wrong other than I didn't have to rewrite everything on the other sheet. She said the only reason we were writing on a separate sheet is because she hasn't figured out to print something different to the other side of an already printed out page so she had a separate sheet for documentation when she can and was just having us write on the blank side of the back of the printed out MAR for those residents who didn't have a separate sheet printed out next to it. I like those MARs with the areas on back all ready to be written in instead of having to write your own lines and keeping it all neatly spaced, etc. My boss prints out her own and like I said, she isn't very tech savvy and doesn't know how to double print on both sides. Maybe I should teach her. Lol! I thought what I wrote pretty much meant the same thing and since she didn't mention it when I showed her so it was okay.
