What is the name of the school?

Have you looked at any of the county colleges for LPN-RN programs?

I've never heard of "Achieve Test Prep School". When I googled it an ad came up for "teaching assistants" for their "unique" LPN-RN program-

http://www.lpnjobsfinder.com/job/24991/lpn-needed-as-teacher-assistant-nursing-test-prep-school-part-time-woodbridge-nj-at/

they are willing to hire LPN's (how can an LPN teach an LPN to be an RN?_, paramedics (again totally different field and not even licensed by the same agency, how can a paramedic teach an LPN to be an RN?) or a respiratory therapist (same question).

Silly me but I would think that a VALID program educating 'experienced' LPN's how to become an associates degree RN might actually want to utilize a REGISTERED NURSE as an instructor. I know in my local ASN program, a master's degree (MSN) is required to be an instructor or a clinical lab instructor. I cannot fathom how a respiratory therapist (though RT's have to be licensed and have a minimum of an associates degree in NJ) or a paramedic (non-degreed in NJ) could possibly assist in a registered nurse education program.

PLUS-they "guarantee your success in writing" hmm, sounds too good to be true.

Why not go directly to Excelsior rather than an "affiliate"? Did you check the distance learning forum?

For a "school" in NJ they are not listed on the NJBON's list of approved schools for associate degrees in nursing. http://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/nursing/adegree.pdf

I no this is a late post but i saw that school as well and was interested in it. i was going to the place tomorrow to find out more info. But did you ever go and if not did you find another online school to go to??

achieve test prep is not a school of nursing. it is not an online school. it is a company that offers classes to teach you how to pass the subject exams (clep-like tests) from excelsior. though some companies claim or imply otherwise, none of the outside test prep companies are affiliated with excelsior (http://www.excelsior.edu/about-test-preparation-services )

from the achieve test prep website: "the achieve way is one that helps you achieve your degree faster and for less money than the traditional route. instead of taking semester long courses, you test out of, and get credit for, college courses through standardized exams. this is program known as credit by examination (as with a clep test). at achieve test prep there is no wait-list and we can get you into our classes in as little as a week.

achieve test prep is a test prep program that better prepares you for these exams. not only do our students learn the content needed to pass exams but also learn test-taking techniques and study skill tips. after taking one of our test prep classes, you then take the corresponding exam, which is administered by an outside accredited institution of higher learning. upon passing the exam, you have earned college credits for that class."

the classes are neither nursing nor college courses, but classes in how to pass the course exam.

interestingly enough, on the indeed message board achieve was offering to purchase your tcn materials if you signed up with achieve. http://www.indeed.com/forum/job/lpn/lpn-rn-study-group-nj-excelsior-college/t33082/p23
