Does GPC require you to complete just Human Anatomy I before applying for the RN program? Or do they require both A&P I & II? I looked at teh website and it seemed to not be well explained.
I am looking at applying for the program. I see they admit more than once

Its not really clear on their website unless you know what the course #s are!.....
A&P I (BIOL 1611) has to be completed for entrance into the program. You also must have already had Psych, English and Math.
A&P II (BIOL 1612) has to be completed for advancement to the second semester.
Micro (BIOL 1613) has to be completed for advancement to the 3rd semester (2nd yr).
All general education classes must be complete before advancing to the 4th (final) semester.
Having gone thru the program (I just graduated) I HIGHLY suggest that you do ALL of the pre-reqs BEFORE starting the program.
How was the program and was it competitive? I am taking Human A&P 1 this summer.
The website isnt very clear IMO
Another question
(sorry for all these posts)
For admission into RN prg at GPC, A&P 1 is required. I am enrolled in A&P1 now, do you think that I would have a good chance of getting into the program for Fall 2006? I was thinking I could take A&P II my first semester tehre

Another recent grad here.. Fall 2006 will be pushing it. Have you taken the entrance test? You have to have a passing score on the entrance test (NET) and have been accepted to the program. I think most Fall students have already gotten their acceptance letters. Either I was blissfully unaware of how competitive the program is, or something has changed... I hear now that many, many more apply than are accepted.

The website said that the classes the encourage you to take before applying are BIOL 1611, BIOL 1612 w/ Lab, or BIOL 1913. But you have to finish all of them by the final semester of the program.

Please make sure you ask alot of questions at GPC about graduation rates, pass rates, how many people start the program and are able to make it through the entire program, what is the background of the professors, etc. In the past I have heard some nightmare stories about GPC's program. Hopefully GPC has become more organized and open about the retention and pass rate for the students in their program. The problem is that the only tools utilized to make an admission decision is the NET exam score and your GPA. There are no recommendation letter or essay requirements with the application. Just to keep in mind when trying to find the best school for your career goals.

GPC will not give you straight answers regarding their pass rates, etc. From what I've heard from a student who graduated this month is that about 26 of the 150 original students from both campuses combined actually graduated.
WOW..Is GPC not a good school
DO they not look at those who have previous degrees etc?
I read the good and bad on here about GPC... I want to attend a school in ATL or near ATL
Something where I am able to work at good hospitals etc
I am supposed to start A&P 1 this week.

GPC is a great school to for taking pre-reqs, etc. Just make sure you thoroughly research the nursing program. Cheap and quick is not always the best route to take. You want to make sure you are getting the best education for the buck. I would suggest maybe calling hospitals in the ATL area and speak with the RN recruiters to see what their impression of the grads, program, etc.
I did that once I received my acceptance letter and it really helped to solidify my decision on where to go for nursing school.

I concur. I LOVED GPC for my pre-reqs. In fact, I'm taking my last class at GPC now, before transferring. Just do your research.
Which school did you grad from?
Doesnt seem that there are many users here that go to or graduate from West GA in Carrollton
