I have been out of school for over 20 years and I am back in a BSN_-MSN program, I am doing a project that requires a care plan-i was told that you have to cite (APA) your care plan references-most of it is coming from my memory from nursing school. So a question to the educators-Do you cite in the body of the care plans or only as a reference at the end. And anyone with an example-please feel free to list . Thanks.

In my experience, every school has its own, preferred format/style, so I would be sure to check with your instructors and make sure you're clear on what they want.

Speaking as an educator, I would highly recomend that you go to the literature (texts) for your care plan. You need to ensure that you are basing your careplan on science. At the very least you are reviewing your careplan with accepted practice, and you will probably learn a few things along the way. :)
