I just got accepted into the Saddleback RN program. Super excited, and relieved...but thanks to my OCD stressful brain I'm already worrying about the first semester. I have not taken Pharmacology, as I do not live in Southern California, and my college did not offer it. How horrible is it going to be taking N170, n171, N165 and Pharm all at the same time??
Does pharmacology require a lot of study time? How much outside class time did you find the N170 and N171 to require? I'm not worried about N165, but I've heard bad things about pharmacology, and read that most people recommend taking it before starting the program. I wish I had had the option, but I didn't. How does pharm compare to physiology or micro?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I also got into the program starting next spring. I am currently taking pharm and life cycles II at Saddleback. The Life Cycles classes are super laid back, each class only meeting 8 times. So each Life Cycle class is only 8 weeks with class just once a week. I didn't buy the textbook or study outside of class and I have a high B. As for pharm, that is a whole different story. There is only one professor that teaches the class there and she is intense. Many students blame her for being tough, but reality is: Pharmacology is tough no matter who teaches it. Yes the class is intense and the content is vast, however the class is totally doable. She knows it is a lot to learn, so she has quizzes every week on the previous material, instead of testing on 30 chapters on a midterm. It would have been easier to take them before starting the program, but I have heard of many students taking them during and doing just fine. Just depends on how driven you are and how hard you study.
Congrats on getting in! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. I have friends in 2nd and 3rd semester there and friends that just graduated from there this past year.

Hi there,
I am looking into applying to Saddleback's nursing program. Does anyone know the minimum acceptable score for the TEAS test? Thanks for your help!

The minimum passing score is a 62%. Saddleback uses a point system, so the better you do on the TEAS, the more points you will get. If you get: 62-63% = 5 points, 64-70%= 10 points, 71-77%= 15 points, 78-84%= 20 points, and 85-100%= 25 points.

Hi guys, may I ask how many points you had for being admitted? I'm probably going to be applying with 80 points, and I'm also currently an LVN, though I cannot bridge because I don't have 1 year of experience working full-time. Do you think I I have a good chance of getting in? I should be applying in February of 2013 :) THank you!
