I recently had clinical and I had a pt. with metastatic cancer with extremity weakness. Pt. was also diabetic. I've been taught that DM is always top priority. Priority concepts I listed were mobility, and metabolism (diabetes). Though diabetes is not what pt. was admitted for and blood glucose is under control, would I be correct as listing DM as my top nursing diagnosis/priority?
