Ok we must do a clinical group project. I need some ideas from nurses as to what would make your work environment a better place to work or help you cut down busy time and have more patient time.:heartbeat

Cut down on charting, perhaps? ;) We spend more time with paperwork than we do with patients.

The hospital where I am doing my clinicals suggests that the nurses make notes as they go and do "cluster charting"...unless of course something happens that needs to be charted immediately. This seems to cut down on the charting time.

Another suggestion would be to have a smaller patient to nurse ratio...
