Hi everyone,
I am graduating next month here in MA and moving to TX shortly thereafter (maybe immediately depending on my fiance's job situation).
I may need to take my NCLEX in TX and my nursing faculty are telling me this might be tricky. None of them have dealt with it directly, but they have "heard" that the TX BON requires a certain number of clinical hours and/or a certain type of program in order for an out-of-state grad to be eligible for NCLEX in TX. My adviser told me that she "heard" that because our program is integrated (psych, maternity, med-surg all together throughout the 2 years) and Texas programs are not, the TX BON doesn't like that and may not accept me in some way.
All it says on the TX BON website is that the program has to be accredited (which it of course is) and I need to have my Dean submit an Affidavit of Graduation (a super simple form). I've tried contacting them by phone and email with no real luck (I'm actually on hold with them now on speakerphone as I type this).
If anyone has ANY information about this I would appreciate it so very much! I don't know who to believe, and my fiance doesn't know whether to accept this job!
Thanks so much,
Aries
