  1. I have been in the NC intervention program for smoking marijuana- NOT while working (yes, I know...stupid) for almost a year. In reading this forum I know how lucky I am to have only had to deal with the urine testing- no meeting, no rehab, etc..Just the daily anxiety of checking in and driving an hour each way to test if chosen. I have no discipline on my license but if I wanted to work as an RN over the past year, I would have to tell potential employers I am in the program (hello...HIPAA?). I chose not to do that and have worked in a non nursing job for the past year. Now that I have a month to of, my anxiety level is through the roof. What do I tell potential employers about the last year? Anyone who has completed their program and returned to nursing have any thoughts or advice? I can't believe this is almost over but I'm terrified of where to go from here....
  2. I'm not tested for alcohol either and have no limits/ restrictions on using it. My "crime" was thc and not while working. As far as urines, definitely don't hold it, just drink normal amounts of water and you should be fine. First Lab app on the phone is good. Just be sure you check in between your allowed times or it counts as a missed check in. Good luck!
  3. Best of luck with the NC BON- the only care about getting the money for your drug tests. There is no support related to how you got here, it irrelevant to them. Unfortunately, if you want to work in nursing while going through their program you do have to tell any employers. If you don't work as a nurse while completing this, there is nothing to tell after the year as long as there was no discipline. It's $78/ test don't believe them that it's 1-2 times monthly, had my 4th test this month just last week. Never missed a check in, never had a positive. They just keep testing. Good luck, hope your experience is better than mine has been!!

NC BON is horrible. A total joke to deal with. Zero response to calls or emails, just want their money for testing. Good luck!
