Thank you to everyone who responded!! I think I will just arrive early, I'm already in the habit of showing up 30-40 mins before the start of my shift so hopefully I can just count on some privacy.

Adult med/surg nurse here. I'm in my 30's and I'm considered one of the old ones on my unit lol. Adult med/surg is so physically demanding, a lot of nurse that are 50+ leave because their bodies can't take it. We regularly get patients that are over 400 lbs. We used so have enough support in the form of CNAs and techs to help but but with staffing cuts nurses are doing more themselves, and the older ones are leaving because of it. Its a shame because they are so knowledgeable and great resources.

Her opinion of you playing favorites is subjective, as long as there haven't been other instances or other people who also think you "play favorites" you should be fine even if she does report it because it will be unfounded. As for the med administration, as long as there was no adverse outcome for the patient, there should be no reason for her to be fired or lose her license. I agree with one of the previous posters, I think something has already got her on edge and shes taking it out on you

Hi, I have been a med/surg nurse for many years and finally got an OR job (literally just found out a few minutes ago) which I have wanted for a long time. Something I realized I totally forgot about was the locker room. I have awful eczema, and many ugly scars from it. When I'm wearing scrubs you can't tell but once they come off its very visible. I have been very self conscious about it all my life. I'm wondering if typically there are any private areas to change in an OR locker room? Are you able to change in the bathroom? I know the easier/simpler answer would be to stop being self conscious but its hard to break something that easily when its something I've been emotional about my whole life. Thanks
