What are fair requests with travel assignments
Dear Caroladybelle, Thank you for your response, I appreciate your insight. I have talked with the hospital directely oppose to a travel nurse agency, I haven't been offered the position at this time since they are looking into my references. I know that they do hire travel and seasonal RN's. I would like to try one of these before I set my mind on a permanent position. Oppose to moving allowance, is there any help or compensation for flight or inital set up when there. Do you have any opinions on travel nursing vs seasonal positions? Thank you for your time. I appreciate your input.

What are fair requests with travel assignments
I am interested in a hospital in the Sarasota area and I am wondering what are fair and effective methods of asking for what you want with your employment. From what I understand housing and cost of living are quite expensive in that area. Does any one know what type of bonuses/ assistance/ moving allowances are often offered .... and what is a good deal? Any negotiation advice would also be helpful. I am an ER nurse with 2 years of experience and a BscN.

Hawaii? Florida? What Company?
Hello, I am in need for some helpful advice. I am looking to travel at the beginning of October to some where warm with a beautiful ocean. I am a Canadian RN, who works in the ER. I have 1 1/2 years of experience in ER, a current Hawaii license:rolleyes: and I am waiting for my Florida one:mad: . I completed my visa screen with CGFNS and am ready to go! However, I am having a hard time finding a nurse travel company with positions in these places. Does any one have any suggestions. I would also like to know the process for getting a SIN number, and if I should get that started also. Any advice would be helpful and greatly appreciated!!! Thanks M

Masters In Nrsg Vs. Mba
Hi! I am an emerg ER RN in Canada. I completed my BsCN one year ago this past December. I am contemplating on starting my masters degree in the near future. I am interested in working my way to a management position. I want to know if any one has advice on whether I should do a masters in nursing (administration route) or an MBA (healthcare route). I really want to make an informed choice. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thank you:idea:

ER RN in Canada! ?? Med/ Surg RN in Hawaii?
hello all, i am currently a rn in emerg at a community hospital in canada. i am wanting to try a travel assignment in hawaii in the upcoming new year. my experience includes emergency with no trauma, lots of cardiac, ortho, medicine, post op complications, sepsis and elderly age related issues. i also work casually on a nephrology medicine unit. i was thinking of applying for medicine or surgery position since i do not have two years of experience in my speciality. i will have had one full year in emerg by the time i want to travel. i heard that since i don't have one year in medicine/ surgery then no one will look at my application. however, my hospital has two areas in emerg, one for autely ill pts and one for those pts who are admitted to surgery, gyne, ortho or medicine. what is your opinion on my place to apply for a first time travel assignment. any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

NEW to TRAVEL NRSG: From Canada wanting HAWAII
Hi my name is Misty, I am new to this site. I am an RN in emerg and have been there for nearly one year. I have been reading about travel nursing on this fourm and it sounds like there is alot of useful information available. I am wanting to try travel nursing in the new year once I have been in emerg for a year. I am looking for a short assignment in Hawaii. I was wondering if any one has been there and can recommend any hospitals and any travel recruiter companies. BTW I have already written and passes my nclex and applied for a visa screen. Is there any other prep I should do?
