Hey! I applied like two weeks before the deadline and got accepted. It doesn't matter when you apply, as long as you submit your transcripts before the final day. I took English 1106 at Douglas and it transferred over to Langara but on BC Transfer Guide it doesn't show 1106 as being valid anymore. I'd email Langara and see :) good luck!

Nope! I don't think we'll hear back for at least another week. Last intake heard back 20 days after the deadline, and same with the January 2018 intake. What GPA did everyone apply with?

The Fall 2018 applicants started hearing back about 2 and a half weeks after the application deadline. Hopefully we hear back that soon too! At98, the same thing happened with my friend! Unfortunately, when you're waitlisted, it's just a waiting game. The Langara advisors said a lot of spots open up a month before the program because those applicants who haven't paid their fees get deregistered. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long though! Best of luck :)

The Langara advisors said it's pretty equal, so fingers crossed that January 2019 just has less applicants. I think it just depends from intake to intake. Some intakes just have higher GPAs & degree holders than others.

Yup! As long as you have the minimum GPA on the 5 pre-requisite courses (2.33), you're guaranteed to get in. Will you be applying to this intake?

They round GPA to the third decimal, if that makes a difference for some of you. I asked a Langara advisor, and they said the only time they would ever look at how many times you repeated a course is if you have the exact same GPA as another applicant. Other than that (and if you have previous degree of course), they don't take the number of credits, volunteer hours, or anything else into consideration.

Hey! I don't know if you've already taken your Bio classes, but I figured I'd give my advice anyways :) The Bio classes definitely fill up fast. The issue I had at Douglas and Langara was that I would get into the first bio class, but would not be able to get into the second one. I spent almost a year fighting for a spot for the second bio class. A friend recommended I take it at BCIT and would TOTALLY recommend it! It's a 6 credit class, so it's the first and second bio all in one course. I found it a lot easier- it wasn't as in-depth as the other A&P classes at Langara and Douglas since it was considered an accelerated course. So if you haven't taken the Bio classes yet, trust me, take BHSC 1200 at BCIT! I got around a C+ every time I took the first bio (which was 4 times), but ended with an A at BCIT. Hope this helps! I didn't end up applying to this intake, but I think a lot of you will get offers from the waitlist! From what I've heard, quite a few people get waitlisted and then get offers later on when other people decline. I know last intake someone got accepted with a 3.3 but from the waitlist! Don't give up hope guys!! Wishing the best for all you guys & there's always the next intake :)

That's a really good GPA so you might still get an offer from the waitlist! No, I had planned to but I didn't get into the second A&P class last semester so I didn't have all my pre-reqs finished. I'll be applying to the Jan intake for the first time. Super nervous as I don't think my GPA will be super high :/

i think 3.5 is totally doable if you try the next intake. it seems like this intake was really rough and there were a lot more degree holders than usual. i'd give next semester a try since 3.5 is really high!

Ohh I see! I was gunna say, how on earth did you get waitlisted with that?! haha but it makes sense now. That's awesome that you'll have your degree. You're pretty much guaranteed entry! What's your degree in?

Hey, I don't think it does! A friend of mine had the same issue. They only accept Douglas and SFU if I remember correctly.

Oh okay, perfect! So if I register the minute it opens up, I won't have any issues getting in? I was worried because in other schools the A&P courses fill up within minutes!

Hey, I'm trying to register for BHSC 1200 for the upcoming winter semester. Can you give me any information on how registration went for you? Was it difficult to get into a class? A&P is the last class I have to take before applying to Langara's nursing program and I can't get into it anywhere! I've been trying for a year, and I just found out about BCIT's course so I'm hoping I'll have luck with this one! I'm just hoping entry is not as competitive as other institutions. If anyone has any information on this, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks :)

You don't HAVE to, but BCIT is highly competitive so they give preference to those students who have 30+ credits. So you don't actually need it to apply, but your chances of getting in without those credits are pretty slim.
