  1. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Much appreciate it. ?
  2. Thank you very much!
  3. Hi and thank you to whoever finds the time to reply to my post. I’m about to complete my first year as a nurse in a busy Med Surge/Telemetry Unit. I currently work nights and it has affected my performance a lot. I’m always tired, feeling foggy and I’m constantly worried I will make a mistake due to this. Im thankful I have the support of my coworkers. Some nights are better than others. I got into nursing with the plan of becoming a CRNA, however, after this first year I have started to doubt my capabilities of even making it to ICU. I look at my peers who are more experience ( 3 years experience and up) and their capability of connecting the dots and knowing all the possible scenarios that could go wrong... while I struggle to remember some basic pathologies. I’ve lost my drive because I’m constantly tired but I’m at the bottom of the totem pole if I wanted to transfer to day shift so that’s not an option. I can definitely hang in there for another few months but I don't know what should be my next move... try to suck it in and give ICU a shot or move to OR which is more of a controlled environment ( although I understand that when things go wrong they go really wrong and you must be ready) I’ve had several emergencies where we had to send the patient to ICU and I e been told I managed the situation fine. I usually get the “easy patients” because I’m new. So far no med errors and patients like me. For those in ICU, or CRNA... what were your biggest doubt during your transition? thanks!
  4. Yearp... got the call. June 8th is the new start date. ?
  5. Also, did they give you an explanation as to why they were pushing it? thank you!
  6. So sorry to hear that. May I ask Which unit ? I’m 5E/7E... if it gets pushed until June... I dont know if I will be able to wait. ?
  7. Hi, not for now. My starting date is schedule for April 6th. Was yours postponed?
  8. Hi thank you! ? Received an interview for 7E/5E which I believe is telemetry... I dont know why. Maybe because they ended up having no openings in MICU? Anybody got interview for MICU?
  9. Hi I actually applied for MICU and SM Ortho department but got an interview for RR 7E/5E which is medical telemetry as per their website I was a kinesiology major ( originally I wanted to be a PT) I’ve also been working as an LPN for a few years so hopefully it will help if they throw some clinical /critical thinking questions at me during the interview
  10. Hi, no, I currently live in NYC. I plan on flying over. I am a double major and currently hold a 3.87 GPA. All the best! BSN ?
  11. Thank you ? invitation was sent via email. RR 7E/5E
  12. Hi everyone ? just received an invitation for interview. I’m external, out of state. Applied for MICU/ortho positions. So you can expect to start receiving some updates. Good luck to all!
  13. Thank you very much for your insight. 😊 How do you like working over there? And how much is the pay rate/cost of living ratio as staying there permanently has also crossed my mind. In NYC a bsn nurse earns a good salary but it is also an extremely expensive city. thank you again.
  14. Hi everyone, I currently live in NYC and I am a US citizen. I completed a BS in kinesiology ( in hopes of becoming a PT), but somewhere along the run I decided that was not what I wanted to do, and so I went back for school and got my LPN license and have been an lpn for almost 3 years. After endless unsuccessful trials of trying to get into an accelerated BSN program, i got into a school in the city from which I withdrew after being highly desastified with the system/school structure as I was learning absolutely nothing. In an attempt to get to the finish line I retook some of my a science classes (got all As ) and decided to apply abroad as well as here in the US. To my surprise I was granted admission into U Melbourne, master program. Which makes more sense that taking the offer that might be on the table for me ( 2.5 years for another BS degree) My question is: how long does it take to transfer the license to the US ( I've heard is 8 months at best)... and would having a foreign degree affect my employment applications although I'm American (assuming I pass NCLEX) thank you you very much for all your help
