  1. Just normal clothes lol. I don't think they will require scrubs until clinicals or labs. We should find out more on the first day/orientation. Btw, there is a Facebook group for Nursing Class 2022 on Facebook. Just found it today and there are a few members already. Thought you might wanna check it out.
  2. I was going to choose Block A as well but was too indecisive to which schedule would work better for me. By the time I logged on again, I was left with Blocks C and D. lol Yes, I'm going to orientation as well! I'm pretty excited and want to make the most out of college this time around. :)
  3. Hey there! All information regarding the Clinical Requirements are on this page! I believe we can do the CPR and First Aid stuff as soon as now if you'd like, but the Medical Testing are supposed to be done closer to clinicals. The info should be on the Medical Requirement PDF for First Years which is on that page linked above. Also, I chose Block D. And you?
  4. Just wanted to make a little space for us Humber students (Class of 2022) to get to know each other, talk about the program, our difficulties, etc. RPN and Second Entry Prep students are also welcome! Please introduce yourself and feel free to ask questions or guidance. Let's help each other have a successful 4-years (or 2) in Humber! My name is Erika, 26-year-old mature student. I've been in and out of college since I graduated high school back in 2009, mostly due to uncertainties in what I want to study. I have a little baby now so I really need to finish post-secondary studies so I can finally get a rewarding career. Nursing was never my first choice but after considering all the career opportunities one could have with a Bachelor of Nursing degree, I decided to go ahead with this program. I find helping people rewarding so I hope this is the one for me. Tell me... Why did you decide on taking a Nursing program? Ready to start our first year?
  5. Starting 1st year this September and I just have a few quick questions regarding the classes. I have a class on my timetable called "BN Seminars" and the class runs on Tuesdays for 45 mins? Is this a class? Do I have to attend this everyday?
  6. I got my tattoo about 3 years ago and haven't even considered the idea of being a nurse at the time so I had no qualms about how this tattoo could affect me in the future. Anyways, my tattoo is of lotus flowers. Nothing that signifies death or anything that could scare a patient. It runs from my top forearm to the top of my hand (left). The tattoo holds a special place in my heart because it signifies overcoming depression that I was suffering from when I got myself inked. I don't know how strict the hospitals are here in Ontario or Canada with regards to having visible tattoos. I've read that they may ask you to cover it up, which is fine by me, but won't wearing long sleeves or putting a concealer be an issue in terms of cleanliness? Also, since I have a tattoo, employers may think I'm a liability and will be more comfortable hiring someone else with the same amount of education or experience who DOESN'T have a tattoo. Is there any chance for me in making it?
