  1. hi! Im just wondering to see how you enjoyed your periop experience (seeing as by now, it has probably concluded haha). I am being interviewed for the Lenox periop fellowship and just want to get a feel for how they prepared you!
  2. Hi! Do you mind if I ask at which hospital your periop fellowship took place?
  3. I actually ended up receiving the call and completed the on demand interview since this posting! Fingers crossed, this seems like a really good program
  4. Is this the periop fellowship for Lenox Hill? If so, I see that they still have the posting live on the job portal. I just applied and was wondering about how long it took for you to hear back -- thanks in advance! :-)
  5. i got accepted to the generic program!! 3.8 with a 147 NLN score. im shocked but so ready for this orientation
  6. I sent mine in at around the same time. I think it depends on whenever they received your transcripts - you'll get an email for that too. They received my transcripts a few days before the deadline
  7. if you go onto nursingcas, under "Check status", it'll only show you your GPA calculation after the application status has been turned to "Verified". Usually, they'll send you an email once the change goes from complete to verified. After around an hour from that email, your GPA should be updated onto that PDF!
  8. did anyone's nursingcas application get verified yet? i just got the email that mine did - my cumulative GPA for both colleges i attended ended up being a 3.86. not as bad as i thought id get, but i still wish i never took those college credit classes in HS. they didn't even transfer over to hunter and yet they were still calculated into my gpa
  9. thanks! I think the essay is really just in case there are multiple applicants with the same composite scores/GPA as you, they use it as a deciding factor. At least that's what i've heard. I applied to the generic program. I feel very jittery now that there's nothing to do but wait until April/May!
  10. In case anyone else is wondering about the calculator for the math section (assuming you take it at Hunter) - yes, there is a calculator! It's at the bottom tabs of the screen and it's there for you the entirety of the math section. unfortunately, you don't get it in the science section for any of the formula related questions, but in my experience I didn't end up needing it at all for science anyway. :)
  11. I took my PAX about a week or two ago and got a 147 (99th percentile) with a 4.0 from hunter and a 3.7 from a college I took high school classes at (not sure if they factor this into the overall GPA! if anyone knows please lmk :) ) the book is your best friend! I dedicated a lot of time to it and went through and did all of the practice sections. I can assure you, content-wise, the test is very similar. about the personal statement - I also struggled with it to some extent. Mine ended up being around 650 words, same amount as a standard college essay is.
  12. I am graduating from high school this year, and one of my top picks for nursing school is Adelphi on behalf of its accessibility compared to other schools im applying to (stony brook, mount saint mary, etc.). i was just curious as to what other people in the BSN program think of it this year, as i've heard a lot of horror stories about the school in general (i.e, the quality of their education and professors), and especially in regards to their financial aid offices. i kind of just need a little validation to assure me that i wouldn't be wasting my four years there. thank you!! :-)
