Those I've found on the website, but I'm trying to figure out if it can just be a general Microbiology/lab course? The same thing with the Chemistry is it general, organic? Have you began program yet?

Hey guys, I'm definitely late to this thread by a year + , but I'm just trying to get some insight if anyone has started Stony Brook's ABSN program yet? I live on LI and am trying to find more ABSN program as I've just graduated am looking into options I'm currently finishing and retaking the prerequisites required to apply, but I was just wondering as far as the micro and Chemistry ... what types are they looking for?

Thanks for the advice, I'm looking into a bunch of stuff right now actually. The LPN - BSN bridge program you mentioned, all you need to have is the LPN license? Are there any other requirements or is it that guaranteed? Because that would literally be great and so perfect.

Hey guys does anyone know if you need to retake a course to get a better grade in it, will you be eligible to apply still because it's a retake?

Thank you for the insight. Yes, I did hear about that new joint program it sounds great! I heard it's very competitive but still totally worth looking into. See my problem is now I have so many credits, but no degree. I had went to suffolk for pre nursing so I have many of the necessary prerequisites for any of the BSN programs, but many of them don't allow repeated courses or anything and some want things that others don't. It's crazy and makes it that much more difficult. I don't really know what direction to go!

Yeah, for me it just makes more sense to go straight to the BSN program. It's an expensive enough program that I need to save whatever I can for school. Yay, congratulations!

Hey guys I had heard from someone in the RN program at SCCC that LPN's are being phased out and they're not hiring them much... Is this true? I tried to find LPN jobs through Northwell but there weren't many. They also don't get hired in hospitals. I was doing this program as a stepping stone hopefully to get a job in the hospital and then having them help me go back for my BSN. I was just curious what anyone thought or what your plans are?

Hey guys I know this really late to this thread, but this was the one that I came across and I figured I would try. I'm trying to find a good BSN program and I know Stony Brook has a great, but competitive program. I looked online as to what prerequisite work they want but could an actual person who has been there answer that question for me!? I look to apply, I obviously can't apply yet because I'm still finishing the prerequisite work. Would you guys suggest that I take the general ed course work for the nursing program at suffolk so it's cheaper? What exactly along with those classes and scoring a C or better, do I need to have a good chance of getting in?

Hey guys yeah the TEAS exam is the entrance exam for most nursing programs, but I know for the ESB program the entrance exam is just the reading comprehension and english. There's no science on their entrance exam versus how there is on the TEAS exam. Thanks for explaining interview I'm nervous still! Yeah as far the bridge program I heard if you maintain an 85% average through the program you're eligible for the bridge program either Helene Flud program (associates RN) or Adelphi (Bachelors RN). That's just what I heard, I don't know if all of it is true.

Do any of you guys plan on going onto becoming an RN?

Hey girl! Congrats on getting the interview! I heard from the others above that the interview isn't too crazy so don't stress out too much I'm sure you'll do great! By the TEAS do you mean the entrance exam? Or maybe it's different for the western suffolk boces? My friend said it was a lot of money in the beginning, ugh I'm gonna be paying it off for a while lol! From what I've read from the other forums some people went to the interview and got a call the next day vs. some people got a call a few weeks later! Good luck at the interview!

Congratulations on graduating that's awesome! I think I'm leaning more towards the PTE program just because of the pace. I think I could handle the FT one, but I want a better chance of actually doing better lol. With that being said I really hope and intend to do the evening program. How would you say the program was?! The instructors are they good? Do you feel like you got real knowledge and really have a good understanding of it all? I'm sorry for all of the questions, I'm excited but so nervous!

I don't even know. Originally when I first heard about the program I wanted to do full time mainly because you finished quicker and for me that was kind of what I was looking for because I would like to move forward to become an RN. Though, I know three people that have went through this program, two of them which finished the other one ended up getting dismissed because of grades just below the minimum of the 75 and they said the full time was A LOT. I mean it makes sense everything is crammed into an 11 month period ya know. I don't know I feel if I did the part time I may do better then trying to do the full time and risk not being able to handle it. I am soooo ready for either one though lol I just wanna start already.

I plan on taking the exam the first week in May sometime! How was the exam? I found from looking at other topics that the interview is simple and to the point, basic questions.

Hi! Does anyone know the requirements to apply to Molloy as a transfer student for their BSN program? I was originally planning on doing the Eastern Suffolk Boces LPN program and then just doing Molloy's LPN to RN program but I would love to just do the BSN straight away. Does anyone know how/what I would need to have prerequisite wise?!

Hey guys is anyone planning to apply to the LPN program with Eastern Suffolk Boces in September? I know it's just passing the entrance exam but does anyone know if there is a limit on seats? Should I take the entrance exam soon this way all of the spots don't fill up or is there more than enough time? Help! I'm so nervous

Hi guys, I just have a quick question and would like to know other opinions. So I'm interested in the Eastern Suffolk Boces LPN program in Brentwood, NY. I haven't decided as far as part time or full time yet because I have to find out all of the basics of the program first before making a decision. I was curious if someone could tell me once you're finished with the program, and get your certification as an LPN, do you have either an associates in it or anything or is it just a certification? Also, I had heard from a friend in the program that if you maintain an 85% throughout the course of the program, and want to move forward to obtain your RN, you could from there go to either the RN program at Adelphi or LIU Brooklyn (both great programs)! I would like to know if this is true, and if once you get into either of those programs what type of degree you would obtain. I want my bachelors so this may not be the best route for me so I could really use some insight if anyone can help me!
