  1. I spoke too soon. I was dropped today. I will be repeating 3rd semester.
  2. Yes. But I have amazing news! I was taken off probation today, told I was doing well and to keep it up for next 2 weeks and I'll pass clinical. OMG! Now to study my behind off. I have a 71.99 and need a 75 to pass. I was so depressed about clinicals I didn't study much for last 2 exams. But now I have a chance!!
  3. Ha must be nice. I'm at Merced college ADN and 7 have been dropped from original 47 because of clinical, and more will be cut this week. I know I'm next. I've worked so hard and they're being so nit picky about my AM reports and nuances of my "flow" in med passes.
  4. It's not about grades. It's clinical. If you have a target on you, you won't make it. I've seen some get away with mistakes that others would be dissmissed for. We'll see if I make it, it will all be over in 3 weeks.
  5. How many people are axed. They've cut 6 from 3rd semester already and the last semester in 3rd lost 15. I just can't stand seeing so many good students cut. I'm on probation so I may be next...
  6. I'm in my 3rd semester now and doing horribly in school. Feeling very discouraged. I've embraced the idea of repeating but who knows if I pull it together maybe I can still pass clinical.
  7. It depends on which hospitals you go to for clinical rotation. Mercy uses Cerner. Los Banos uses something else.
  8. Yeah more detail. Such as knowing what type of fluid you would infuse into a patient with diarrhea. Will it be a. Hypertonic b. Isotonic or c. Hypotonic
  9. No I didn't but I read the textbook. I have kids so I woke up every morning at 5am to read for pharmacology. I just studied fluid and electrolytes before the start of semester.
  10. I highly recommend incoming first semester students to read fluid and electrolytes by Chernecky. I did before I began and I scored high on the fluid and electrolyte exam most of class did poorly on. Use the Summer to learn the concepts because once semester begins, you don't have much time to get it all straight with the workload of everything else.
  11. I have 3 kids, on welfare, receive a little support from their father (child support/child care) and scored the highest on a fundamentals exam yesterday 92.5. It's extremely possible to excel, you just have to be willing to work hard for it. My home life is difficult but at school I shine brightly.
  12. I only have 3 more weeks and I'll be done with 1st semester. I got a 92.5 on my fundamentals exam today. I'm so incredibly stoked! I'm a mom of 3! So if you're a mom of multiples, you can totally be successful in RN school.
  13. Wow best of luck to all of you! I have 4 weeks of school left with 5 exams and 4 more clinical rotations! I'm feeling so burnt out but have to push through to finish my first semester of nursing school strong. I have an 82 in fundamentals and a 87 in pharmacology. I used to think it would be super glamorous to be an RN but I'll tell you, it's not! After staying up so many nights doing so much reading/assignments, I realize they've earned every bit of success they have. Best of luck to all of you!! If you get in, I highly recommend you read a fluid and electrolyte book while you're waiting for your semester to begin. It will make lots of stuff click sooner. I read one and I was waaay ahead of the game when classes began.
  14. I would redo it since 95% of science portion of TEAS is A&P
  15. I wish you the best of luck! Have you tried COS or Merced college? I'm in Merced colleges RN program now and OMG this work is harder than I imagined.
