UTMB sets up clinical rotations for Houston/Galveston area only. If you plan to or are outside of that area then you are required to set up your own and UTMB has to approve it. I’m in San Antonio and plan on doing my rotations within the hospital system I currently work for.

Honestly I’m not sure, I do know that the AGACNP program is significantly smaller than the other specialties offered and more competitive. To get real numbers by specialty and acceptance rates and such i would contact the school directly because they don’t have it on their website like other schools do.

I applied for the priority deadline so I was the first found reviewed, got the letter I think 2 weeks after saying I was accepted. I also have not heard anything from the school since emailing my acceptance, had to re email asking for confirmation that they received my acceptance paperwork. Since receiving confirmation I haven’t heard anything from the school. I’m too excited so that’s just annoying not hearing anything but completely normal!

I haven't heard anything from the school at all when did you apply and when did you get an email or notification about fingerprinting

I called and the nursing department said as long as the transcripts or scores were received by the school on or before jan 17, then you will be considered. Thank god cause my final transcript had a mailing problem and was received the 17 (aka over the 3 day weekend).

Do you know about how many students are on the waitlist for the absn + MSN program for this summer? Or maybe approx how many waitlisted students ended up attending last year? Just kind of wanted some perspective :)

Mine said- after initial review of your application to accelerated bachelor of science in nursing + master of science in nursing.... blah blah, we have put you on the waitlist.

Waitlisted- 3.5 pre req (with nutrition) 3.67 cumulative gpa bachelors in exercise sports science (pre physical therapy) resume- paid internship summer + winter break at WageWorks for COBRA insurance. 1 year personal CNA job. BLS certified Certified nursing assistant CPI nonviolent crisis intervention certified Phlebotomy certified 200 hour occupational therapy internship at skilled nursing facility human cadaver study in undergraduate No GRE

All I know is that they review all waitlist people. So they look for diversity, different qualifications to bring to the group, etc.

Only communication I've had with them was about my last transcript being updated. She said everything was complete and good to go... hoping they contact about the interview -.- getting nervous

I'm going to apply to traditional programs. And many programs. I think this program and UT Tyler is just so competitive because there are hardly any spots that you have to be nearly perfect.
