LOL ummm not sure how well received your message will be in this thread as all of us fall 2017 folks are just graduating with our BSPNs and quite passionate about our new field of psych nursing which you apparently consider "giving up"...way to add to the stigma that psych nurses are second class nurses

Also I just completed the blackboard orientation and I did everything but I was really confused about the messaging part, where it said something like "mickey mouse" of the organization... I kept checking the recipient list assuming they had added a fake account called mickey mouse but I couldn't find one? Was it some sort of slang term for the head of the program? I didnt want to bother any of them in case I was wrong lol

Is anyone else confused about the online modules we have to do ahead of time? I never tried to log on to the old website and now i recently got an email that it has changed to a new website... I made an account but when I follow the instructions and search 'enter Student Practice Education Core Orientation' it just comes up with a list of 500 courses, none match 'Student Practice Education Core Orientation: VCH, PHC, FHA, PHSA, VIHA, IH (SPECO)” perhaps these instructions are out of date from the old website? then there is the list of the 14 classes to complete (plus the ones they have since emailed to us) do they all need to be searched seperately? I dont know why i am having so much trouble with this lol

I did the deposit and the criminal record check, I went to my doctor and got the medical form but she didn't have "proof" of my immunizations so she sent me for all the serology possible, but she said not all of them have serology... So I'm just waiting for those results What did you use for proof?

I got accepted too! just got the email today. I just did the criminal record check and it never asked for payment? did yours? I thought it was supposed to be 28$... but when I got to the end of it it never asked for payment just said that it went through and there was a confirmation page for me to print

Ugh it would just be really nice if they made a point of telling us before Feb 1st....I wonder what they are waiting for I see in other discussions on this website that people who applied to the regular nursing at Douglas found out months ago

Sorry to ask a million questions but was the info session only people that had been specifically invited (aka people who had applied/finished the prereqs) or was it just one of those info sessions where anyone interested in the program could show up? Also I'm sure you heard about the people (I heard it was 9) that applied in October for fall 2017 start but were offered a seat to start this jaunary because spaces opened up? Ever since that happened I was under the impression that no one had actually finished the prereqs earlier, everyone was just finishing them up last semester... (Although I see someone earlier in this thread that said they finished them in 2015) Because the people I know that got offered for Jan 2017 were still currently in the prereqs...so I thought that would imply that there was no one else waiting to get in already finished

hmmm did anyone acknowledge the fact that the next application date is less than a week away? I guess I am applying again too... also I still cant believe they gave us less than 8 hours notice for the info session! especially since it was at 5pm... at least if it was at like 7 or something people who worked that day could still make it. I bet theres way more than the 5 of us in our situation that just didnt make it to the info meeting.

hmmm so they didnt give any indication of how many seats were left (Im assuming there are seats left or else why would they have emailed us) or if we were waitlisted or anything like that? Ive just realised that the next application date for winter 2018 start is next week!!! (Feb 1st) what are we supposed to do? should we apply again? was the ¨package¨they gave out just the course outline booklet thing? because when I went to the last info session it was already the updated booklet, so I believe I already have it. did they just say to wait to hear from us?

hey! I received that email too yesterday at 9:30 am saying that there was an info session that night at 5pm... I emailed right away saying that I was on my way to work and there was no way I could make it with less than 8 hours notice given, and that I had already attended an info session last september. I asked if it was the same info session (the one that starts out general in the main auditorium then splits into different groups in different rooms for the different programs) and she said yes it is similar. I have been in contact a few times with the woman who ran the one I attended (her name is ****) and the lady I emailed yesterday told me that she would tell **** I had already attended an info session and that she would call me to pick up my package sometime soon. Did alot of people go to the info session?!?! what did they tell you guys?? was there alot of people in our situation still waiting for acceptance? I finished the last 2 bios last semester

also did anyone else notice that on the list of all the requirements where it has filled in our grades and the ones that are still required/in progress etc. on the application status page, that psych 1100 and 1200 and the other university elective course are not listed? were those ones not direct requirements too? the only courses listed on my chart are bio 1103/1203, psych 2300, english 1130 and an english UT elective, then the last 2 bios which I am currently still taking. but no mention of the other courses?

Theres a difference between ¨wanting kids¨ and wanting kids immediately after getting married at a very young age. I dont really get what kind of answer you were wanting...what is there to say besides maybe it would be best to wait a few years?

I have applied and I am currently finishing up micro and patho this semester. They told me that they have marked that my pre reqs are in progress as well. At least they didnt just instantly reject us like everyone who applied to regular BSN while still in the prereqs! I wonder what kind of a chance we actually have
