Being both a nurse and chiropractor
Nursekaren3535, I do not see anywhere in the OP's post about him wanting to take all online classes and wanting to take the "lazy" way. The OP specifically inquired about how the clinical experience was. IMO, this means the the OP truly wants to learn the skill it takes to be a nurse. In regards to chiropractic, you may have had a bad experience in the past but please do not put all chiros into one group of subluxation chasers. The OP never mentioned a word about subluxation and clearly stated that they only treat musculoskeletal pain. This is evidence based practice. Usually I do not respond to these posts, but I am a chiro who is going to back to an accelerated program to obtain my nursing degree. Many chiros do this because they do not want to take a short cut and want to do things the right way. I do not feel that I will be jeopardizing public safety once I obtain an NP. If you do not like the online NP programs maybe your frustration should be taken out on those programs instead of the people actually going through them. OP, feel free to message me on here if you are still considering going back to school and I would happily tell you about clinicals. I would be happy to discuss more with you. :)

Chiropractor Looking to Start Nursing School
@echohills79, I am most likely going to have to do private loans. I know there have been many DC's do this route so I'm sure there is going to be a way to make it happen. Feel free to PM me if you can, I would be more than happy to get in touch with you via email or phone to talk about the options more.

Chiropractor Looking to Start Nursing School
@crimsonsky, any updates on your situation? I am in the same boat as you. I have been accepted to a 1 year BSN but it is not cheap. I get worried about the loans but do not want that to steer me away from pursuing the nursing route.

Chiropractor to CRNA advice
I'm a relatively new grad, so its a grind to build a practice. Could it be rewarding in the end? Maybe, maybe not. There is no certainty. I have looked into buying established practices but people want unreal amounts of money for them. Then I figure I could use the money that I would have put into buying a practice into continuing my education. I would rather learn than go knocking down doors for new patients. Also, many chiropractors seem to be at the front lines of the anti-vax and anti-medicine movement which is just silly. We have zero training in those topics, but yet I see that crap shared by chiropractors all over the internet. It is not a direction that I support. Maybe I am taking it too personal, but I just wanted to help people get out of pain. If I do the FNP route I will try and team up with an MD and utilize both.

Chiropractor to CRNA advice
Another DC here looking for updates on this story. I am currently looking to attend a 1 year BSN starting in May '17. After that I will (hopefully) work in an ICU and then apply for CRNA school. If I do not get into that program I will probably do an NP program. Thanks! PS I just realized that this thread is going on 4+ years old

Male Chiropractor considering nursing...advice please :)
Hi all, I found this post while searching options into the rn-bsn route. I am currently a chiro practicing in Saint Louis, MO and looking at cost effective ways into nursing. I am wondering if anyone knows of any online programs that have clinicals within a couple hours of the city? I would ideally like to work while doing the schooling. Thanks!
