Am I "late"? 22 yrs old starting prereq Jan
I am doing a career change. I started my prereqs last Jan at age 28. You're never really too late. There is no sense in beating yourself up over what you should have done years ago, you can't reverse time. Focus on now and how to get to your nursing goals. I felt the same way upset over it, I have 2 BAs at an expensive UC. I still have school loans but those experiences are helping me today with decision making and etc. I have 3 more classes to go 😊

Pre-Nursing Student
What city do you live in? I live in San Francisco, CA. There are a lot of hospitals that assist with paying for school here. I was always under the impression they would pay for RNs to get an even higher education. Not sure if they would pay for me to get my Associates in RN. The Navy Nurse Candidate Programs sounds interesting, thank you for that advice. You should look up Nurse Corps. It kind of reminds me of Teach for America except all nursing.

Pre-Nursing Student
Hello everyone! I have been visiting this website for about a year a now and finally decided to make an account :) I am currently taking pre-reqs to apply to nursing school and was curious how some of you are putting yourselves through nursing school? I am currently working full-time, I am taking 1 class per semester for my prereqs, I know I should take more so I can apply to nursing school sooner. I am returning to college after earns 2 BAs a few years ago. I was hoping to find a hospital that will pay for my schooling that I can work at part time, not sure if that is realistic or not. I of course would want to stay at the hospital if and when I become a nurse. I feel it is harder now, graduating college in 2010 I didn't have many bills but my school loan that was on hold at the time. Now that it has been a few years I have more bills, car payment, school, rent and etc. How did some of you find going back to school challenging? How did you accomplish going to nursing school and still having bills? I want to make sure I get the best grades possible and I don't have the option of not working. Not sure what other resources are out there. I did see the Nurse Corps program through my online research but not sure if I would even get in. Thank you for your time!
