Mercer County College Fall 2016 Hopefuls!
I see that this is a very very old thread but I am currently going through the process of trying for mccc's nursing program. How was your experience? Were you able to recieve an acceptance? If so, do you mind sharing your stats or "fall back options" in case of rejection? Thank you! :)

What do I do if I don't get into a nursing school?
Yeah unfortunately my high school transcript wouldn't do much for me if I tried to start nursing school out of high school, but through all my research I haven't found many schools with the prereq alternative or the school's rule Is either that they won't accept transfers into the program or there would be no point in trying to go "undeclared " and transfer in because the seats will most likely be filled. Just got back from an open house at Bloomsburg University and this was the case. The requirements for the nursing school weren't terribly competitive but I couldn't even meet the basic requirements. I'm planning on taking the act for the first time in December and will study my heart out for this test considering that it's one of my only options to fall back on at this point. I really want to thank Everyone who has replied and hopefully Ill be able to update you all on the process. Won't go down without a fight

What do I do if I don't get into a nursing school?
My parents are pretty adamant about their decision and personally I dont think I could spend another year here either. I have a very deep dislike for my town and my local college doesn't have the best reputation. I think both me and my parents can agree that it's time to shove me out the nest and experience the world on my own. My only concern now Is that I have been left alone with the huge decision of choosing a school that is cost friendly and has a program I can get into. I trust my capabilities but besides the help Im receiving from my guidance counselor I'm pretty much jumping in this blind.

What do I do if I don't get into a nursing school?
Hi all! I'm a senior in highschool who has actually posted here before and had some questions on my options for nursing. I have been editing my college list as I've been bouncing back and fourth between applying to colleges I want to go to and seeing if I can get into their nursing program as well. I'm planning on applying to eight colleges and right now I have 4 on my list. Unfortunately every nursing school I've looked at has stressed the importance of a high school transcript and through emails I've learned that my sat scores are not very competitive for most school' prenursing program. Now I'm at a roadblock. The four schools I have on my list so far are all schools that offer bsn programs and Id have no trouble getting into the colleges themselves but their nursing program is a different story. Only two of these schools allow in school transfer students while the rest require you to be admitted as prenursing students based on a competitive high school transcript. My question to you guys is if I should add "safety" schools to my list by adding in 2 adn programs and 2 lpn programs that I should apply to. Community college is out of the question so if you guys have any school suggestions that would help a bunch. I know nursing is what I want to do and I've worked hard in school but unfortunately the math portion of my sats has not shown this. I've taken the test 3 times and I'm waiting on my final scores to arrive in a couple of days but my options are slowly running out.

Please Help!!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am currently a senior in high school who is in the process of applying to colleges and their nursing programs. I have never been a terrible student but I'm also very average. My GPA is a 3.68 which isn't terrible but my sat scores are horrendous. I regret not taking school more seriously over the years and not realizing the importance of the Sats. Math has always been a weak subject for me. Before the new Sats I took the test once and only scored a 1550 with the math section being my worst score. The second time I took the test (new sat) I again only manage to score in the 400 points range for math and my 3rd time taking the Sats were in October but I doubt I improved on my math section I'm extremely guilty for wasting my parents time and money on Sat prep but still not grasping mathematical concepts. The dilemma right now is that the schools I'm looking at are schools I could PROBABLY get but getting into their nursing school Is another question. To give you an idea of the problem I'm facing I'll list some schools I'm looking at The college of new Jersey (completely a reach ik) Stockton University (requires at least a 500 on math) Bloomsburg University University of Arizona Georgia Southern University Salisbury University Rutgers Brunswick/Camden (reach as well) Texas state university Temple university (very very competitive) I forgot to mention that Im currently schooling in the state of New Jersey but will be looking at schools out of state due to the intense competition. At this point I am feeling extremely helpless and depressed for many reasons. I have always wanted to enter into a 4 year Bsn program but will probably only have a chance with 2 year programs. The issue with this is that many hospitals really only take nurses with a bachelor's (so I've heard) and I feel as though Ive ruined my chances for good. I really want to thank you guys for reading this terribly long sob story but I'd also appreciate it if you guys could give me some advice or name some schools that focus less on high school grades/scores and more on college performance. Thank you
