  1. I'm taking ap 1 as a hybrid and I love it! The work online is pretty easy it just takes a while to do and the lab is great. You just have to schedule time to work on the class and make sure you don't get behind. We have our lecture exams online and have to do learn smart modules.
  2. I will be taking Microbiology, A&P 1, and then one more class! I'm trying to decide if I want to take nutrition or Africana Studies. If I took nutrition my semester would be completely prereqs and that's somewhat terrifying since I'm trying to get A's in all prereqs
  3. I always love to rewrite my notes. If I take notes during class, I will rewrite them a couple days later. When I rewrite them I highlight key concepts and important things and also make them look pretty in general since my handwriting can get bad during lectures. If I was provided powerpoints, I would go through them and turn them into a note format. Going through the notes a second time thoroughly really helped me clarify topics, let me know what I understand, and also pointed out things I needed to talk to the professor about. I also used a white board to draw different topics out like the calvin cycle. It helped going through the process but you could also just use a pen and paper to do this. If I was studying at home I would search on youtube the concepts I didn't understand to try to get a better grasp on them. Good luck!
  4. I have two books for anatomy, one for lecture and one for lab. Combined ill pay $330 but ill be able to use both for a&p1 and a&p2
  5. I would talk to that schools department to get the specifics you need. For my program we have to take microbio but to take that we have to take bio 1 plus lab and chem plus lab. I can take general chem or principles of chem. And I would guess you have to take intro to statistics but just make a quick call to the department or talk to an advisor to make sure youre on the right track.
  6. You can retake classes at my school and nursing program and the highest grade will stand. It sounds like most don't take retakes though so definitely do your research. I know some will take an average gpa of the classes you retake. Just depends on where you go really.
  7. I started to take sociology online but I ended up dropping it. It was a 16 week course so not as demanding as taking it over the summer. I overall didn't like the setup and the professor I had for it. We had a chapter to read every week and we had to read it very thoroughly to pass the weekly exams. They were open book but you got one minute per question and the questions were very detailed or came from little side readings and passages. I dropped it after 2 weeks. This is just my experience though, it will differ with every school and professor. Taking it over the summer will just give you a lot more content to learn in a short amount of time. I also think its harder to learn and fully understand the concepts online without an actual lecture, ill probably take it again but just with a different professor and in an actual classroom.
  8. I only have to take general bio 1 for A&P 1 and then A&P 2 after that. To take clinical pathophysiology you have to take bio and A&P 1 and 2. I have to take any chemistry course to take microbiology.
  9. There are only 7 prerequisites. A&p 1, a&p 2, statistics, microbiology, pathopysiology, psychology of human development, and intro to nutrition. You have to take biology 1, a&p1, a&p2, and pathopysiology in sequence. Then you need to take chemistry 1 to take microbiology and intro to psych for human development. They have a progression plan on their website and also a ranking criteria. They rank you off of your gpa for prerequisites, your hesi score, certifications and experience, and whether or not you took credits at metro.
  10. I'm going to have a busy spring schedule. I'll be taking 15 credits at my university and then ill also be getting my CNA at a local technical college. This spring I'm taking Biology, Bio lab, Human growth and development, an English course and interpersonal communication along with my cna courses.
  11. Apparently Denver health is hiring new grads at $26 a hour
  12. Hey Barbie! Thank you for replying! I went to a info session today with Tobin and he said around 160 people apply each year Good luck!! I hope you get accepted into the program!
  13. Please let me know if you get into MSU's TNO program! I'm a freshman there this year and I'm just worried about getting in because I have no healthcare experience. And from what I understand there are only 24 students accepted into the TNO program each year. Also I was curious what type of timeframe you completed your prereqs and general studies in?
