  1. I worked on the critical care transport team(hospital to hospital) for over 8 years for a children's hospital. I saw more male nurses in the PICU verses the NICU by a long way. However I am with you. My passion is children's nursing and that is where I would want to be also. I wouldn't be afraid to go for it at all. I "assume" the reason that you don't see many is that most(again assuming) would rather be in areas of intensity like the ER.
  2. I am a new student but have been in the hospital and EMS setting for many many years. In the back of an ambulance you just have to do what you have to do to take care of the patient as there is only one of you back there(usually). I can totally understand the caution though especially in this "sue-happy" world we live in. I have seen too many people lie and exaggerate for their own selfish reasons. Sometimes you just have to do it, but if there is a female available I would surely make sure she was in the room with me while doing a procedure.
  3. I was really worried but got into the Sellersburg RN Program with a 129 score. I really figured it was too low to be accepted into a 40 seat program but I made it!
