Is this for SF or OC?

Not sure when the deadline for your app was, I’m assuming Sept 15? If so, your 10th week is next week (by 11/24).

USF ME-MSN Spring 2021
My undergrad is in Public Health. I also just finished my MPH prior to applying. GPA 3.83. Global healthcare experience and also a current respiratory therapist in the LA area. I applied at USF twice. Waitlisted the first time and I applied again and got in. I missed answering a question on my first essay. So, I revised it on the second app and I'm not sure if that's what got me in.

USF ME-MSN Spring 2021
Hey guys! I know how frustrating the wait can be. Been there, done that. Last cohort, it took exactly 10 weeks before they got their letters of acceptance. When I applied we got ours exactly 9 weeks. So, any day now for y’all, I’m from cohort 9 and I hope to meet you guys soon and good luck!

University of San Francisco ME-MSN Fall 2020
Hopefully you guys won’t have an issue with immunizations since clinics are closing back up. Castle branch was a little stressful when I did it. Also, might be a good idea to start a facebook page for those who got accepted so you can communicate there. @hotcheetos - yes

CONGRATS to those who got accepted! Is this for the OC Campus? Can't wait to meet all of you! ?

University Of San Francisco ME-MSN Fall 2020
Don't lose hope guys. I was also waitlisted last fall and applied again for Spring and got in. I did consider other schools and took more classes to meet their requirements (I.e. more chem). Last Spring, I applied again and also applied at 2 more schools. Mt. Saint Mary's in Los Angeles has an accelerated BSN program (12 months). I believe you need Chemistry and 2 religion classes.

I didn’t repeat any classes. Bachelor’s gpa 3.63. Masters gpa 3.8. (Anatomy, Physio, Micro gpa 3.3). My essay is simple, but the second time around, I followed directions and addressed one question I missed. I probably omitted a sentence or two, and then addressed what I missed... didn’t really revise it extensively.

Don’t give up all hope just yet. Last sem, I was told to wait until the first day of class. This was on the email they sent me for OC. I got another email the day before class started and unfortunately I didn’t get in. I reapplied, revised my essay a little and got in this time. Definitely keep trying.

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science Entry Level MSN (ELMSN)
Good luck ladies. I applied there also last year and got interviewed right after taking my HESI (Oct 2018). I failed the Chem section and even though my overall score was in the 80% +, they look at every category and must pass each one with 75%. I passed the interview. Was told to reschedule ASAP and that if I pass the HESI by end of Nov (2018), that I would join the spring cohort. I never did retake it. I had only 2 weeks to study and didn’t feel I was ready. Didn’t want to waste money on retaking. I applied at USF (OC Campus) instead and got into their Entry Level MSN (HESI or TEAS not required). As far as pre-reqs go at CDU, it states on their website that you must have a B grade on all the classes listed under pre-reqs. It has been on there since 2017 from what I remember. So the advisor made me retake Psych 1 coz I got a C from YEARS ago even though my bachelor gpa was 3.7 and Science pre-req gpa at 3.8

A little bit more patience guys. Those who got offered a spot have until the 20th, I believe, to pay for their deposit or I think they forfeit their spot. I’ve only met a few for OC cohort. Hopefully there will be lots more spot left. Good luck to all who are still on the waitlist that’s patiently waiting.

Hi @NurseAbs! I am thinking about becoming a NP, but it's still up in the air. I have MPH now and I wanted to get my RN credential so I can do more out in the field. No bedside care for me, for sure. I have been doing bedside care for a LONG time and it's time to let the young ones take over. LOL! Maybe pursue my PhD in Global Health after this. Was supposed to start the doctorate program this past July but I kept stalling the school in hopes of getting into USF. Got on the waitlist at USF and by then it was too late to start the program.
